Ila Thompson recalls a day of painting she calls “Batten Down the Hatches”.  “Although 30 mile-per-hour winds were predicted, I was undaunted - after all, who believes the weatherman?  However, as the day proceeded, the wind persisted.  Now the battle was on.”

“Holding my hat with one hand, the paint palette with the other, I helplessly watched my paper towels fly away like a kite.  But I spite of it all, I fought the good fight and nearly finished a painting that I actually liked.”
