Bernadette Regneir joined the Snake River Plein Air Painters in 2004; participates in the annual retreats, and brings a unique look the exhibits with her small, thoughtful on-site studies. Her painting, “The Lighthouse,” done on location in Oregon had the audience appeal to win Viewers’ Choice at the 2007 SRPAP Annual Exhibit.
“Plein air painting combines my two loves – being outdoors and art. Whether I am sketching a tree on my way to the field or taking time out to draw while traveling.
The greatest challenge is capturing the light and mood of the conditions; the rewards are the memories the drawing or painting brings back – the spirit of the place.” |
