Founder of the Snake River Plein Air Painters, Marjorie Clearwater says the fun of being part of the brotherhood of art is sharing both the ‘good news” and the “bad news” of artistic achievements. “We all speak a special language and are a little goofy!”
A long time plein air painter, she recalls painting landscapes on location back when the glamour words ‘plein air’ were just in books about the impressionists. “All of my early art instructors taught landscape painting on location because that, in their terms, “is where the answers are”; the term ‘plein air’ not yet arrived, at least not in our neck of the woods.”..
